WHAT IS YOGA?

  • Discover what Yoga is authentically and bust all the modern myths surrounding it

  • Learn how Yoga has evolved over the course of thousands of years, starting with its roots in Vedic India

  • Uncover how the various styles of Yoga have emerged and learn to teach 10+ different traditions

  • Have a deep and functional understanding of the Eight Limbs of Yoga or Eight-Limbed Path toward enlightenment

  • Breakdown the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali from their original and literal Sanskrit origins

ANATOMY/PHYSIOLOGY

  • Physical Body: Muscular, Skeletal, and Nervous Systems, including how to determine proper and improper alignment of any movement or position, troubleshoot various complications and limitations, and then adjust accordingly

  • Energetic Body: The Nadi System, including idea of Prana, Chakras, and Marma Points; including how to find balance in each

  • Karmic Body: The Idea of Karma and Moksha, including Mind, Ego, and Consciousness

  • 108+ Asanas along with how to Cue, Modify, Regress, Progress, Adjust, and make hands-on Assists in each of them

  • Learn how to use sight, sound, and energy to deepen a practice through Mantra, Yantra, Drishtis, and Sound Healing

MENTORSHIP AND REAL TEACHING EXPERIENCE

  • Ojas Yoga Teacher Trainees start teaching on their first day of class to not only break them out of their comfort zone, but also encourage them to explore their teaching while participating in the program so that by the time graduation comes along, they are 100% ready!

  • Halfway into the training, Trainees will start teaching community classes at Unfold Yoga OC in Brea, California to people outside their classmates in order to introduce them to other body types, fitness levels, personal preferences, and student feedback.

  • Student Teaching is always supervised by a mentor who will give honest feedback to improve your style and skills

  • Toward the end of the training, students will have 1-on-1 time to speak to the mentor of their choice on the area they feel needs more attention, whether its harnessing your style, organzing your sequences, perfecting your flows, or refining other teaching methods like adjustments, music choices, marketing options, social media skills, or something in between!

TUITION IS ALL-INCLUSIVE OF OVER $1,000 IN MATERIALS AND EXPERIENCES, 

including all required textbooks, printed manuals, weekend retreat, vegetarian dinners every class, membership at Unfold Yoga, teacher hygiene kit, school supplies, sponsored swag, and more!

 

PAYMENT PLANS:

  • STANDARD PAYMENT PLAN: This is the standard payment option to receive your certification immediately upon graduation. The Standard Payment Plan splits up the tuition balance remaining after your $500.00 deposit over the course of five (5) monthly payments ranging from $500.00-$540.00 per month. Students using the standard payment plan will receive their certifications on December 15th.

  • EXTENDED PAYMENT PLAN: This option is for students who are more financially limited and willing to delay getting their certifications in exchange for smaller monthly payments. The Extended Payment Plan splits up the tuition balance remaining after your $500.00 deposit over the course of seven  (7)  monthly payments ranging from $360.00-$385.00 per month. Students using the extended payment plan will not receive their certifications until the balance is paid off on February 15th!

Classes take place every Sunday from 9:00am–7:00pm starting August 4th!

 *There will be one weekend with an added Saturday that will be retreat style overnight!  Exact date will be decided upon as a group.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT DOES "OJAS" MEAN?

  • OJAS is a Sanskrit term used in Ayurveda (Yoga's Sister Science) to describe the vital or essential energy that arises from nourishing lifestyle habits (like Yoga!), wholesome foods, and sound sleep. OJAS literally means "vigor" and is responsible for maintaining our vibrance and strength throughout all stages of life. Signs of plentiful OJAS are radiant skin, mental clarity, emotional stability, abundant energy, a powerful digestion, strong immunity, and sense of peace and lightness.

CAN I TEACH YOGA AFTER THIS?

  • YES! 100x YES!! Not only will you have the knowledge and confidence to teach Yoga after this program, but you will also graduate with not one, but two certifications! As an Ojas 250 Hour Student, you graduate with both a 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Certification that allows you to register as a 200RYT with Yoga Alliance, as well as, a 50 Hour Ayurvedic Yoga Certification that puts you ahead of the game with an added 50 hours of Continued Education from the start. 

WHAT STYLE OF YOGA WILL I LEARN?

  • OJAS Yoga Teacher Training recognizes that Yoga that is not "one-size-fits-all," and therefore, goes above and beyond to educate its students on various Yoga traditions, including but not limited to, Vinyasa, Hatha, Power, Ashtanga, Iyengar, Yin, Restorative, Yin, and Yoga Nidra. On top of this, they are also introduced to how to approach special groups such as when pregnant, elderly, rheumatic, and more. Students are also educated on other forms of self-care such as Ayurveda (Yoga's Sister Science), SMR (foam rolling), Calisthenics (functional fitness), Sound Healing, Crystal Healing, and much more. Our goal is to introduce students to the various paths they may choose to follow as teachers!

WHAT IF I HAVE TO MISS A DAY?

  • Not a problem! Yoga Alliance requires that an absolute minimum of 180 hours be done in-person. We designed the schedule accordingly to allow students the ability to make-up a maximum of two (2) full days or twenty (20) hours total with homework if necessary. Any hours short of 180 will require scheduling private sessions with the lead teachers for in-person hours to meet their guidelines, these added sessions would also be an additional cost. 

 

ARE THE CLASS SIZES BIG?

  • We limit every training to 12 students to maintain an intimate learning environment and assure each student gets the attention they deserve and paid for- because of this, however, the sessions can max out and additional students will be placed on a waitlist or enrolled in the next session in Spring.

DO I NEED TO HAVE A LOT OF YOGA EXPERIENCE?

  • No! Whether you have practiced for many years or many months- the calling to deepen your understanding of Yoga can hits at any moment and we know this! As long as you have at least exposed yourself to the practice, OJAS Yoga Teacher Training can help with the rest. Potential trainees with less than 1 year of experience will just be required to take additional Yoga Classes at Unfold Yoga OC throughout the week (included in tuition) in order to gain a more hands-on understanding of the teachings!
